Skype Hits 22 Million Users

Skype announced in a blog post a few days ago that in 2009 users made 113 billion minutes worth of Skype-to-Skype calls, and in the first six months of the year the amount of video calls over Skype increased to 40 percent of the company’s traffic.

Skype is currently showing 22 million users and is expected to continue growing very fast. Skype is a great service to use for families that can’t be together during the holidays so the amount of users is expected to grow over the holidays.

I’m very happy to see that Skype is doing so well because I literally use it several hours per day for Skype-to-Skype video calls. I hope Skype can continue to grow and be very successful.
